Mythology

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Narasimha to protect his devoted follower Prahlada and destroy the demon king Hiranyakashipu, who had become arrogant through a divine boon. After slaying the demon, Lord Narasimha's fierce form was pacified and merged with the Varaha (Boar) avatar, resulting in the unique form of Varaha Narasimha. It is believed that Prahlada established the deity on Simhachalam Hill and worshipped the Lord there. The temple thus symbolizes divine protection, unwavering devotion, and the triumph of righteousness over evil.
